September 11, 2001
In Memory
We are shocked by the tragedy which struck New York City on September 11th, 2001. We extend our sympathy to all the friends and families who mourn the loss of their loved ones from this tragic event. Our thanks go out to all the rescue workers whose heroic, selfless actions saved so many lives.
It is with indescribable sadness that we mourn our good friend and advisor to Miercom's executive board, Todd Beamer. Todd lost his life when United Flight 93 crashed in western Pennsylvania.
Todd was a passionate athlete and sports fan, and a former basketball and baseball star at Los Gatos High School, where he graduated in 1987. He received his bachelor's degree in 1991 from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, and his MBA in 1993 from DePaul University, Chicago, IL. He lived in Plainsboro, NJ, and is survived by his wife Lisa and his two sons, David and Drew.
We are proud that Todd played a great part, along with the other passengers of Flight 93, in what was clearly a heroic attempt to recover the hijacked airplane from the terrorists, thereby helping prevent the airplane from reaching its target - our nation's capitol. Considering the devastation wrought by the other aircraft on Tuesday, it is unquestionable that the actions of Todd and his fellow passengers saved countless lives on the ground. We are very proud of Todd and will miss him. Our heart goes out to Todd's wife and family.
A nonprofit organization to continue Todd's passion for youth has been established in his memory:
The Todd M. Beamer Foundation, Inc.

There are many others ways to help the victims of this tragedy. We encourage you to visit njserves.org and networkforgood.org (formerly helping.org).
May all those touched by this disaster - the victims' families, and all who mourn - find comfort, strength, and renewed hope. God be with you in these difficult days.
Miercom Helps
Miercom provided a team of volunteers comprised of employees and friends to assist with recovery efforts at the World Trade Center. Our mission was initially to provide rescue and digging support, and in the days to follow to assist with food service operations and provide logistic support. It was our distinct honor to assist from Thursday, 9-13 through Saturday, 9-15.
Miercom employees, along with an astonishingly brave and dedicated team of local volunteers, performed clean-up and food service at a makeshift NYPD station situated directly across the street from the crash site. Our mission was to make life as comfortable and sanitary as possible for search and rescue personnel until the Red Cross could organize and establish operations.
While the devastation we saw is unimaginable, the purpose of this page is to convey that there is much more to this story. The uncommon and routine valor with which fire, EMT, law enforcement, Con Edison, construction contractors, and many others workers performed their various duties was at least as breathtaking as anything we saw. Their actions gave us strength and assurance. As witnesses, we can attest to one thing loudly and unequivocally: the spirit of America is alive and well.
We went because we wanted to give. We walked away with far more than we came with.
God bless America.

Psalm 23, A Psalm of David
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
